It’s a mix between texture quality (I think) and the mat_phong setting in the dev console. If you have a high texture quality with mat_phong 1 they’ll look like they do in their preview images with the gold with wooden accents on some. High texture quality with mat_phong 0 makes them all look like big sticks of reflective butter.
