So apparently in 5e the advantage and disadvantage are still in play no matter how stupid that is and makes no sense since specific is supposed to trump general. However the new One DnD or whatever it's gonna be called has changed that so that it is specifically states that Blindsight negates the advantage and disadvantage on attacks.
