Steam Deck I can play BOTW ( on Cemu ) at either a 30fps lock or 40 with some dips. In TOTK ( on Yuzu ) I get 4k60fps most of the time, low 50s in dense areas and crashes ( had it happen once ). The main problem is not Steam Deck's lack of power. The Switch is specifically constructed. The very details in the Firmware, OS etc the Switch use, are closed source. So, it is very hard to make a perfect emulator. So, even with the best Computer Hadrware, there are possibilities, that some Switch games will lag.

CEMU is the way to go if you want to play Breath of the Wild on your PC or Steam Deck, don't get me wrong, Yuzu and Ryujinx are great emulators, but CEMU has years of optimization, nowadays you don't even need a good PC to run perfectly and still support online games like Mario Kart.

for BOTW Cemu is still best. thanks ill check it out. Yuzu has an early access version that supposedly has amazingly improved performance, making the Switch version of BotW actually playable on the Deck. I haven't tried it personally, but my news feed has been blowing up with it the past week or so. I'd look into that.
