Dodge durango intermittent starting problem.

Didn't check to see what's happening out at the actual lights yet. Wifey noticed it once this weekend and now today it's happening often.Jun 4, 2020 · I visit your forum and I must say it is great. Two years ago I fulfilled my dream and bought a new Durango RT AWD. From the very beginning the car has a problem with a warm start. When Durango tries to start with a warm engine after about 1.5 - 2 hours of standing, it does not want to start. The diagnostics do not show any fault. 2011 - 2013 Dodge Durango TIPM Module Repair Wait sorry just reread your post + you've replaced the TIPM 3 times. Please disregard what I wrote above. I will say that before my TIPM was replaced I could pull the blower motor relay and it would start functioning again. Warranty repair and the dealer is cooperating. So far they did the obvious, wheel balance, tire check, alignment.

So the problem I’m having is intermittent starting. It always starts if it cranks. Battery is good. Starter is new. I believe the signal is not getting to the starter. It’s not random and it’s not mechanical within the ignition switch. Hard starts are usually ignition issues. It's easy to check for fuel issues, however. Simply try the ideal starting procedure (<5 seconds crank), pull a spark plug and check for fuel. If the plug is wet then you have fuel but either no spark or no compression.

Most of the time it will crank for about 20-30 seconds then start. Occasionally it will crank for half a second then shut off and when it does this it always starts right up as normal. We experience these starting issues frequently (every 3rd start +/-) but not any specific pattern.

Only symptom is it idles extremely rough, stalls if you give it throttle.
