When I first heard the Henning story I checked all of my 1939, 1946, 1947 and 1953 nickels for the hole in the R. I actually found a 1939. I took the coin to the ANA summer seminar two summers ago and was told it certainly looked like a Henning nickel. So these can be found in other dates using this diagnostic.
