For the past 200 miles or so, when I am in 4th gear at around 55 mph (typically WOT), I hear a high pitched "screeching" noise. It almost sounds like wind through my helmet but it is coming from the bike. They figured out they can get away with telling customers that consuming 1 quart of oil per 1-2000 miles is "normal." If you search, you'll find that line used by nearly every manufacturer these days.
