The Invincible Podcast has mentioned on more than a few occasions that Allen is the strongest character in the series and that, at this point, he could take on Thragg. I find this hard to believe as Allen gets his ass beaten more than a few times and gets ripped to shreds, whereas Thragg is the Big-dick God-King with a Pimp Mustache.
It was a little too much a cool anime moment way too early in the story. Mark essentially being a distraction so omni man can fight a 2v1 instead of a 3v1 was better imo. It very clearly established them as threats relative to mark while also showing how powerful Nolan was among them. Yeah in the beginning of the show he has a decent fight with omni-man but he is destroyed at the end of the season in the fight. I think that the main difference is durability. Yes Omni-man and Mark are miles stronger than him, but Mark took a train to the face without flinching while I think that the immortal would be toast.
