When I started my Sorento, it wouldn't go out of park period. I figured out the temporary shift-lock over-ride that is infront of the shifter and to the left and made it home. Vehicle will not shift out of park. If the shift interlock solenoid has gone bad, the vehicle will not shift out of park, even with your foot on the brake pedal.
