Don't own a 3.0L. however, you might need the bellhousing you are using that is on your tranny. expect to swap that. oil pan is it front or back sump/pickup as you said changing. as far as intake, if it is the same in all ways leave it. why buy gaskets that you dont have to and make more work for yourself. but be prepared to change it later date if need be. as said ...

Bell housing on each M5R1 was/is specific to only one Ranger engine model. M5R1 from a 4.0l or 2.3l engine will not fit on a 3.0l engine, or visa versa.
