01-18-2017 10:32 AM. In my case I unplugged the machine and disconnected the 3 scanner connectors and then powered on. It didn't start up, but after removing power and plugging the scanner connectors back in and powering the machine up I was able to get it to the ready state. I updated the firmware and cycled power without an issue.

Go to support.hp.com and search for your printer and there will be a firmware file and a readme that gives instructions on how to update the firmware from the preboot menu.
