Forewarning: these spreadsheets were so heavily trafficked throughout the interview season that many weren’t able to get back in to edit their numbers at any point in time after initially setting it up. For example, I entered my stats and apps, and it was like two months before I was able to access again to update.

Internal Medicine residency isn't the hardest but also isn't the easiest. Life as an attending can be ok but I really feel like it's worth pursuing a fellowship for multiple reasons: You won't get dumped on. You can (potentially) make more money. You are less replaceable. There's going to be so much variability past the top 10 and even that is not quite set in stone. The top 4 are somewhat clear cut in terms of how they are viewed for fellowships, but otherwise it's not that important between top 5-20. Not helpful outside of generally top 4, top 30, and then top 50.

Remember that a lot of these programs get upwards of 3-4000 applications. I've read in a few places that the average time until interview invites is 2-3 weeks. Rheumatology median salary coming out of fellowship right now is $240k. That’s including academic positions that pay less. Most advertised jobs are 4-4.5 days of work, around 8-4 or roughly that same amount of hours. This post makes it seem like the average rheum doc is making $180k a year on an average of 40 hrs.
Use the autopopulate functions for problem lists, meds, surgeries, labs, etc. PMH is a standard thing you need to write yourself, same with A+P.
