Damn, well according to the fandom page, it's untamable without mods. BUT, it can't damage metal or Tek buildings! I can't imagine it'll be able to leave that little lagoonish area by the cave entrance. If you build a metal column cage around the area, you could easily just kill it and bring in the Ankylosaurus.

Screw the giga. This is the most OP creature in the game. Pump all levels into stamina, damage, and health. They will literally kill everything in their path. For the lava golem you can stand at the doorway, fire 2 rockets, bring out your shield and block a possible rock throw, then 2 more rockets. The door is the best spot because it means the rocks will sometimes bounce away from you so you can also save durability on your shield.
