Feb 8, 2011 · Also, according to those reliable sources, the only R1 (Pretoria made) with a wood stock was serial number 1, the first FAL that they produced (and they used an FN supplied stock, among other parts, on that one). That R1 is in the National Museum of Military History in Johannesburg. There never was an R3, at least not as Stevens identifies it.
Generic SA R1 kit in good condition, with SA markings, I'd guess $350-450. There are a lot of variables in SA FAL's, so even "generic" is a large range. $325-375 for a generic Rhodesian kit.
