All Samford Fraternity and Sorority chapters are required to have a fully functioning advisory board to be recognized as an active organization. All advisors must be five years post their graduation date. Advisors do not have to be alumni of the Samford chapter to be on the advisor board. March 4-11, 2012 was a big week for Greek life members on Samford University's campus. Three significant events during the week were designed to bring together the Greek community. The National Panhellenic Conference named Monday, March 4 as International Badge Day.

Four Samford Greek chapters were nationally recognized in the 2013 awards cycle. Alpha Delta Pi sorority was recognized with the "Golden Lion" placing them the top 16 chapters in their organization. Samford's Kappa chapter has earned this distinction 16 times since 1981, which is more than any other currently active chapter.
