Community Beginner , Oct 03, 2023. I received an automatic Adobe update this morning and so far it has solved the problem regarding the constant popup " Acrobat quit unexpectadly. Click Learn more for possible fixes. " If you do not have automatic updates, you may want to check if an update is available.
Go into the Acrobat/Reader settings and disable the PDF thumbnails. After installing, open the PowerToys settings (double click the taskbar icon), navigate to "File Explorer add-ons" and check the 2 options for Portable Document Format. I am having the same problem. IT department uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat and the problem resurfaced. As others have mentioned, the cause of the problem is activating "Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer."
