Aug 4, 2023. #1. I have a Stihl MS170 that was gifted to me a few years ago when my parents were downsizing. It worked reasonably well for a while, but I just can't get it to start. I've replaced the carburetor, fuel line, fuel filter, air filter, and spark plug. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a spark. Once it hits, it will start, idle, and run fine. It will restart since it is warm and run fine. I have also tried to start with no choke and it will not run.even when starting.
