Added a RC 4.5 lift and their steering stabilized, and added new 15” method wheels and new 31” MT tires. JCR bumpers front and rear with their headache rack.

I think if the only thing changed is the engine (keeping the 4 spd behind the 617), your MPG would not be what it was with the 4 cyl. I am not familiar with the OM617 numbers, but if it is a turbo, you would need to change the rear end ratio (higher=lower numerically) to get anything close to 30 MPG.There are a lot of people doing this swap in trucks that are destined to stay on the road and most of those swaps were done to achieve better mpg. An increase in mpg is a plus but I am more interested in the torque that a diesel can supply at lower revolutions.

I made a custom adapter plate to mate the OM617 to the r150f Toyota transmission. I re drilled the Toyota flywheel to fit the Mercedes crankshaft as well as machined a custom pilot bearing adapter.
